If you want to show the posts on the front page of your blog as introductions not full posts, choose the broken page icon from the Visual editor at the point in the text of each post where you want to end the intro and force the reader to click to read more. This helps two ways. More people click through so they don't look like "bounces" to Google and less of your content is duplicated on your site.
